Konecranes has secured a contract from Klaipedos Smelte, a stevedoring and logistics services provider based in Lithuania, for the delivery of ten rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes and two ship-to-shore (STS) cranes.

The Post-Panamax-sized STS cranes will have an individual outreach of 52m and lifting capacity of 65t.

To be installed at the Port of Klaipeda facility of Klaipedos Smelte in Lithuania, the cranes will support the ultra-large container vessels to be deployed in the Baltic Sea.

Canaveral Port Authority has secured a contract for the development of a new terminal to accommodate the Carnival Cruise Line’s 180,000t cruise ship.

The new unnamed cruise ship will feature 5,286 lower berths and is expected to start operations in 2020.

The liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered vessel will be based on the ‘green cruising’ design platform for Carnival.
