A Cargotec unit Kalmar has signed software maintenance and support agreement with Australia’s Patrick Terminals.
According to the agreement, Cargotec has ordered equipment automation systems for its Brisbane and Sydney AutoStrad terminals, which was recorded in the order intake of the fourth quarter in 2019.

Handling over three million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) annually, Patrick Terminals is considered to be Australia’s leading container terminal operator.
The company manages Australia’s most technology-driven terminals at four major ports, which are Brisbane AutoStrad Terminal, Sydney AutoStrad Terminal, East Swanson Dock Terminal in Melbourne, Australia, and Fremantle Container Terminal in Western Australia.
Patrick Terminals has over 120 manual and automated Kalmar straddle carriers as part of its equipment fleet.
Kalmar has delivered the software technology required to run 78 automated machines working at the Brisbane and Sydney terminals and has been assisting Patrick Terminals with software maintenance and support services since 2012.

By GlobalDataAccording to the new agreement, Kalmar will extend software maintenance services and support, as well as a 24/7 on-call service.
The agreement will focus on multiple automation solutions, including platform compatibility, regular improvement and optimisation, issue corrections and lifetime service care.
Kalmar APAC customer support team based in Sydney will deliver the services.
Patrick Terminals national automation manager Michael Houen said: “Partnering with Kalmar gives us continuity of support for our mission-critical automation technology, providing a solid base to continuously improve our operational productivity and reduce operational costs.”
