Swiss logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has launched the new online sea freight service solution KN Pledge for full container load (FCL) shipments.

Despite technological advances in the transportation sector, the company noted that delays can occur due to the terminal, rail or road congestion, adverse weather conditions, or other disruptions to the supply chain.

However, the KN Pledge solution is said to guarantee lead time for full container transportation, accounting for all delivery combinations from origin to destination.

Kuehne + Nagel International managing board member Otto Schacht said: “What is special about this Kuehne + Nagel online service solution is that it enables our customers to receive offers for FCL in addition to LCL shipments within seconds – from virtually any point in the world to any other point with an additional guaranteed lead time.

“Furthermore, we offset the CO2 footprint for this full container shipment.”

Customers who have booked KN Pledge do not need to pay the freight charges in case of any unavoidable delays.
