Langh Tech has signed a deal with STX Offshore and Shipbuilding (STX O&S) for the supply and retrofit of scrubber systems on seven vessels operated by Polaris Shipping.
Four of the seven vessels are 180,000dwt bulkers and three are 300,000dwt very large ore carriers (VLOCs).
As part of the deal, the Polaris vessels will be retrofitted with Langh Tech’s open loop scrubbers by STX O&S as turnkey deliveries.
The installation will be carried out by connecting the scrubbers to the vessels’ main engine and their three auxiliaries.
Delivery of multi-inlet-type scrubber components is expected to begin this year. System installation is planned to be carried out once delivery is completed.
Langh Tech regional manager Simon Kim said: “I believe that this scrubber retrofit contract with Polaris Shipping will be a great milestone for Langh Tech to cooperate with many other esteemed Korean shipping companies in the future.”
