CMA CGM Group has agreed with Container Finance Ltd Oy to acquire Containerships, a container shipping and logistics services provider based in Finland, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition will enable CMA CGM Group to expand its regional network.

Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) has agreed to acquire a stake in Silversea Cruises, a privately owned mid-market cruise line based in Monaco.

The deal, which is valued at $1bn, will involve RCL buying a 66.7% stake in Silversea Cruises.

RCL intends to fund the acquisition through debt. The chairman of Silversea Cruises, Manfredi Lefebvre D’Ovidio, will also receive 470,000 shares in RCL, upon achievement of certain performance metrics during 2019-2020.

Scheduled for completion later this year, the transaction will enable Royal Caribbean Cruises to offer new vacation options to customers.

Monjasa, a trade and marine fuel supply firm based in Denmark, has completed the acquisition of a 3,600DWT tanker named MT Fredericia.

The 2008-built bunker tanker will be used by Monjasa for bunker operations in the English Channel.

The vessel is currently performing bunkering operations across Falmouth, Portland, and Tongue Anchorage areas.

MT Fredericia will continue to supply fuel to vessels passing through the Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA) zone.
