Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cisco to deploy Cisco Borderless Network and Collaboration solutions during phase one of its Khalifa Port Special Systems project.

The Cisco Borderless Network solution will enable smart operations at the port and facilitate trade, logistics and development as well as provide 24/7 access to information and resources.

As per the MoU, Cisco will cooperate in building new service propositions and initiatives, primarily focused on aligning ADPC’s ICT (information and communication technology) strategy objectives with Cisco’s advanced technologies.

The company said that the deployment of the system will help it to build a secure and reliable platform to deliver services across Khalifa Port and in the industrial zone Kizad.

The first phases of the port project, which is currently under construction, will open in Q4 2012.
