Azerbaijan has completed the first phase construction of the Baku international sea trade port in Alat, a settlement about 65km south of Baku.
The project, which is being carried out in three phases, requires an investment of AZN870m ($1.1bn).
The first phase of the project required an investment of AZN 540m ($685.8m), while the second phase will require AZN 150m ($190.5m) and the third phase AZN 180m ($228.6m).
The port project comprises the main cargo terminal, Dubendy oil terminal, a ferry terminal and a passenger terminal.
