Cargotec has won an order from Bolivariana de Puertos of Venezuela to supply port equipment for an undisclosed sum.

According to the deal, Cargotec will supply 24 Kalmar DRF 450-65 and four DRF100-54 reach-stackers, 19 Kalmar Ottawa 4×2 terminal tractors, three Kalmar DCF80-45 masted empty container handlers and four Kalmar DCE160-12 lift trucks.

The equipment is expected to be delivered before the end of 2011.

The state-owned Bolivariana de Puertos operates six ports with an annual cargo traffic of around 1Mteu.

Bolipuertos is currently operating a fleet of over 100 reach-stackers and other associated equipment, including a large number of Kalmar models.

The Government of Venezuela has recently signed a contract to build a mega-port in Puerto Cabello, which will handle 700,000teu, and to expand the Port of La Guaira, which will handle 600,000teu.
