Crowley Maritime’s ship management venture Crowley Accord Management has been awarded full technical management contracts for five new tankers.
The five tankers are the MT Dawn Haridwar, MT Dawn Mansarovar, MT Dawn Mathura, MT Dawn Madurai and MT Portland Pearl.
Crowley Accord managing director Sanjay Shesh said: "Crowley Accord draws on its pool of experienced resources, which are at its disposal both ashore and afloat.
"We utilise proven systems based on internationally recognised quality management principles and have the flexibility to meet all owners’ needs for periodic technical and accounting reports, all things our new customers indicated were of importance to them."
The first two vessels are Arya Tankers that will operate along the Indian Coast. The fifth vessel, MT Portland Pearl, is owned by Union Maritime and will operate in the Europe-to-Nigeria trade route.
Three more tankers will be delivered soon, bringing Crowley’s international ship management fleet to more than 70, Crowley stated.
Crowley ship management vice-president Mike Golonka said: "Vessel owners are seeking us out because we provide honesty and transparency in our operations and adaptable, safe and professional solutions for all of our customers."
Crowley Maritime acquired majority ownership of Accord Ship Management and Accord Marine Management in April 2014.
The acquisition gave Crowley control over all phases of commercial ship management, as well as full technical management and government contracting.
