Towage operator Kotug has received two ATD 2412 tugs from Damen Shipyards to enhance operations of its European Harbour Towage.
The ZP Bison tug will be deployed in the Port of Bremerhaven, while ZP Bear will operate on the Thames river in London.
Harbour Towage UK general manager Doug Harding said: "We are glad that ZP Bear will complement our fleet of tugs operating on the River Thames to exceed our clients’ needs and to respond our local growth ambitions.
"After formal inspection by Port of London Authority for acceptance under Towage Craft Licensing Regulations, ZP Bear will start operations on the River Thames in London."
Damen said the company has arranged transport from Vietnam to Rotterdam, where it handed over the tugs as part of a turnkey operation.
The 24m-long and 12m-wide tugs with 5,600BHP will have a bollard pull of 70t. Features of the vessels include better reliability, flexible employability, low fuel consumption and low maintenance costs.
