Netherlands-based shipping firm Spliethoff has ordered six R-class multi-purpose vessels for use in Arctic operations, which are to be built at Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding shipyard, China.

Delivery is currently planned from January 2019 onwards.

The vessels will have an overall length of 165m and deadweight tonnage of 18,000dwt.
