Vard has received an order to design and build a new research expedition vessel (REV) for Rosellinis Four-10, which is currently owned by Norwegian industrialist Kjell Inge Røkke and his family.

Vard Design will collaborate with Røkke and designer Espen Øino to construct the 182m vessel.

The company will build the REV's hull at its Tulcea yard in Romania and is expected to incorporate the VARD 6 16 design, which has been optimised for maximum performance even in the most challenging and vulnerable environments.

The new REV is expected to enter service by 2020.
