Danish firm Thorco Projects has collaborated with Germany’s MC-Schiffahrt to form a new shipping pool called MCT.
MCT pool features six 10,500t multi-purpose (MPP) vessels from MC-Schiffahrt and eight similar ships from Thorco Projects.
MC-Schiffahrt CEO and partner Mad Dabelstein said: “We have a long and reliable relationship with MC-Schiffahrt over the years, so it was natural for us to seize this opportunity to both enhance our collaboration and expand our fleet with the new MCT pool.
“In the current market it’s crucial to find reliable and well positioned partners.
“Our vessels fit very well with Thorco Projects’ needs and commercially it’s a great advantage for us to be a part of Thorco Projects platform, so in many ways it’s a very good match.”
The company began working to form the new pool in November last year, with further parties expected to join in future.
With a fleet of 20 dry cargo ships including MPP, container and bulk-vessels, MC-Schiffahrt currently provides various management services such as sale and purchase, as well as chartering, operation, technical and nautical management, crewing and others.
Currently, Thorco Projects operates a fleet that includes heavy-lift vessels, which have capacity of up to 800t, and deck carriers that can load ultra-large cargoes.
