Global satellite connectivity provider Harris CapRock Communications has secured a multi-year contract to improve internet services on-board Star Cruises’ fleet of six ships, and on Genting Dream, owned by Genting Hong Kong.

Genting Dream is the first ship under the Dream Cruises brand, which was launched in November last year.

With the new solution from Harris CapRock, Genting Hong Kong aims to provide better internet connectivity and speed to its guests travelling across its fleet in Asia.

Genting Hong Kong’s first cruise line, Star Cruises, has been operating its fleet since 1993, and will now use Harris CapRock’s technologies and equipment to improve bandwidth connectivity by more than 300% on-board its fleet.

Star Cruises’ vessel line includes SuperStar Virgo, SuperStar Gemini, SuperStar Libra, SuperStar Aquarius, Star Pisces, and The Taipan.

Genting Dream will be outfitted later in this year with Harris CapRock’s connectivity platform, Harris CapRock One, which is equipped with multi-band antenna and intelligent communications director (ICD).
