Kongsberg Mesotech has launched a new shallow-water maritime security sonar system designed to meet the customer requirement for an affordable, rapid-deployment turnkey system for maritime security.
The M3 Marsec features multiple applications like berth clearance, hull and structure inspection, unexploded ordinance (UEXO)/IED detection, body and evidence recovery, and detection and supervision of diver.
Mesotech’s M3 MultiMode multibeam sonar has been used as the core of the new product, which can produce high-quality imaging records and 3D profiling data using the same sonar head.
The product is packaged in rugged, re-usable equipment cases and features all sensors for deployment.
A quick start guide can help when setting up the system, which needs two people to install it. The company claims that experienced users will be able to deploy it in 15 minutes.
