MacGregor, a part of Cargotec company, has received a contract for the supply of oceanographic winches and Triplex deck handling systems to a new research vessel.

The new vessel will be known as Atair II and is being built by the Fassmer shipyard in Berne, Germany.

MacGregor is scheduled to deliver all necessary equipments by the end of the first quarter of 2019.

The new dual-fuel 74m-long vessel will be capable of running on LNG, and is currently under construction for the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH).

It will operate in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea to carry out hydrographic surveys and wreck search operations following completion and commissioning, in addition to marine environmental monitoring.

The vessel will feature a 200m2 working deck that will include laboratories and an air pollution measurement station.

MacGregor provides engineering solutions and services to the offshore and marine industries that optimise safety, reliability, environmental sustainability of all operations.

The company noted that all MacGregor solutions and services that include vessel operations, offshore loads, crude / LNG transfer and offshore mooring are designed to perform at sea.
