Jurong Port (JP) and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) have launched the Green Port and Productivity Solutions (GPPS) R&D programme.

The GPPS has been co-funded by MPA’s Maritime Innovation and Technology (MINT) Fund and JP, each of which have committed S$6m (US$4.7m).

The funding can be used over the next five years for research on reducing the carbon footprint and improving productivity at its existing and future terminals.

The funding pledge is part of the authority’s commitment to promote maritime research and development.
