Denmark’s Nordic Tankers Trading is collaborating with V.Group to establish a new ship management company that will focus on operations in Scandinavia.
The new firm is to be named Dania Ship Management and will be modelled on Nordic Tankers' current operations, in addition to being based at its headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Nordic Tankers' current chief operating officer Carsten Brix Ostenfeldt will act as managing director.
The new company will also be incorporated in line with the Danish Tonnage Scheme provisions to provide a local ship management core with access to V.Group’s global ship management capabilities and experience in the operations of chemical and other vessels.
Nordic Tankers Trading CEO Per Sylvester Jensen said: “With our shared commitment to safety, efficiency and quality, I am confident that with our local market knowledge and V.Group’s global expertise we will be in a strong position to proactively respond to the increasing requirements of the international shipping sector.
“Dania Ship Management will have access to V.Group’s specialist skills within their Group portfolio, including extensive investment in IT platforms, which is an important requirement in the digitalisation of our industry.”
