Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced plans to debut its new Norwegian Bliss cruise ship next year.
The vessel is set to feature a two-level, electric-car race track measuring around 1,000ft, which will be the longest of its kind at sea.
Norwegian Bliss is currently under construction at Meyer Werft yard in Papenburg, Germany, and is also expected to include an open-air laser tag course and swimming pool.
In addition, it will feature a sundeck with two further pools and six hot tubs. The ship’s Aqua Park will also contain two multi-story waterslides.
The roughly 167,800t ship will be designed to accommodate 4,000 guests.
Norwegian Bliss will be the 16th ship in NCL's fleet and is set to begin its journey to Alaska, US, and the Caribbean by June 2018, along with additional select voyages to the Mexican Riviera.
Norwegian Cruise Line president and CEO Andy Stuart said: “Norwegian Bliss will no doubt be our most incredible ship to date.
“We have elevated Norwegian Bliss's on-board experience to new heights, bringing the best features from across our fleet, plus exciting new first-at-sea activities like the largest race track and new dining concepts to create the ultimate cruising experience.”
Norwegian Bliss will also feature an aqua park for children known as Splash Academy, featuring various youth-centric activities.
Additionally, the custom-built ship will include a Texas smokehouse named Q, which will play pop country music every night, and offer a variety Texas barbeque dishes.
NCL’s new restaurant brand Los Lobos are also expected to serve Mexican cuisine to the guests on-board.
Norwegian Bliss will also feature a fitness centre, spa and various other offerings.
