OSX Brasil has signed an agreement with LLX Logistica to build the Açu Shipbuilding Plant at the industrial district of São João da Barra, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Under the contract, OSX will build a marine access canal near the area where the plant is to be built.

OSX Construção Naval will provide 51% of the investment related to canal works, including the construction of the canal and breakwater, as well as infrastructure expenses related to maintaining the complex’s infrastructure.

According to LLX, the project will generate a revenue of R$$28m ($16.12m) with the rights to use the Açu Shipbuilding Plant area for 40 years.
