Port Charleston in South Carolina, US, has revealed a plan to invest $1.3bn n the expansion of its capacity over the next ten years.
Under the plan, the port will build a new terminal in North Charleston, which will help it accommodate post-panamax ships.
The expansion will boost the container handling capacity of the port by 50%.
In addition, the port is planning to improve the existing equipment across the port, with a focus on upgrading workboats and trucks around the port, according to portstrategy.com.
