Rolls-Royce Power Systems has been contracted to supply MTU Series 2000 and Series 4000 engines for a range of yachts from British luxury motor yacht maker Sunseeker International.
Under the terms of the agreement, the MTU engines will be deployed aboard Sunseeker 95, 116, 131 yachts along with a number of other crafts.

The MTU series 2000 M96L engine generation, which meets the strict emission limits of the EPA Tier 3 standard for leisure craft, is expected to be fuel efficient while delivering high-speed.
The 12 or 16-cylinder version of the engine consisting of power outputs ranging from 1,432kW to 1,939kW will be fixed onboard Sunseeker 95 and 116 yacht as well as some other larger yachts of the company.
The 4000 engines series will power Sunseeker’s new 131 yacht, which will be launched in January 2016.
The engine series combined with MTU Blue Vision monitoring and control system will provide services on advanced yacht engine technology to the company.

MTU, which manufactures products for commercial applications such as ferries and workboats, yachts, rail and heavy vehicles, has supplied equipment for a variety of large crafts including the 155 yacht “Blush”, which is powered by the Series 4000.
