STX Dalian Shipbuilding has won a $240m contract from Singapore-based feeder container operator Sea Consortium (Seacon) to build eight vessels.
Each of the vessels will have a capacity of 2,000teu (twenty-foot equivalent unit), with a length of 172 metres and width of 30 metres.

The vessels will be built in Dalian, China, and will be delivered starting from April 2013.
STX Dalian is currently working on more than 30 vessels, scheduled to be delivered this year.
