STX OSV Holdings has won contracts from Island Offshore to build four platform supply vessels (PSVs) with a combined value of NKr1bn ($177.38m).

Each of the 3,800dwt vessels will have a length of 84.3m, a beam of 17m and will be based on Rolls Royce’s UT 717 CD design.

The first two vessels are expected to be delivered in the third and fourth quarter of 2013 respectively, and the other two vessels are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2014.

The hulls of the vessels will be delivered from STX OSV Braila in Romania.
