Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS) has been chosen as the lead architect for master planning and developing the interior concepts for the world’s largest private residence superyacht, named Somnio.
The company will work on the project in collaboration with Winch Design.
Somnio, which is being described as the first ‘Yacht Liner’, will feature 39 on-board apartments, along with several amenities. It is expected to be built by mid-2024.
TDoS stated that the apartments are being sold, with their acquisition strictly based on invitation or referral.
The names of the Somnio owners will not be disclosed.
This superyacht is also said to provide access to medical and health care services and incorporate the ‘highest future’ hygiene and safety requirements.

By GlobalDataSomnio will sail across the globe, including covering the Mediterranean, spending a week in New York, sailing in the South Pacific and carrying out expeditions in Antarctica.
It will feature a 10,000-bottle wine cellar, restaurants, bars and an on-board beach club with water sports facilities.
TDoS has worked alongside the client team to develop tailored layouts, aimed at improving operations throughout Somnio.
In a statement, TDoS said: “During the development process, a number of different apartments, sizes and layouts have been developed for Somnio.
“In order to create a true yacht ambience onboard, a wide array of warm and tactile materials have been used, including crafted wood, supple leather and uniquely designed textiles.”
TDoS partner and executive director Fredrik Johansson said: “It really is a unique project, and the level of ambition from the stakeholders is truly exceptional.
“The way the yacht is planned and equipped, and the interior and exterior design, together with the standard of outfitting, will make it as close to living on a private yacht that you can get without buying one of your own.”
