V.Group’s division V.Ships Leisure is set to provide crew management services, including deck, engine, and hotel crew for Mystic Cruises’ 9,300 GRT ice-classed World Explorer vessel.

Under the final stages of construction at WestSea Viana Shipyard in Portugal, World Explorer is the first in a planned series of up to ten expedition vessels for Mystic Cruises.

Mystic Cruises intends to operate the vessels with various charterers and directly through its new office located in the US.

The vessel will be delivered to Mystic Cruises in the second quarter of this year. It will be the company’s first newbuild expedition vessel featuring innovative hybrid power management technology.

World Explorer will have a capacity to accommodate 200 passengers and will be on charter to Nicko Cruises during the summer and to Quark Expeditions during the Antarctica season.
