Germany-based shipping company Zeaborn Ship Management (ZSM) has selected Wartsila Voyage’s Fleet Operations Solution (FOS) for its tanker fleet, consisting of 12 vessels.
Wartsila Voyage received the order in December last year.
The digital navigation platform will enable ZSM to support the security of the fleet, benchmark voyage execution, and cut down the workload of the crew.
FOS uses machine learning and advanced analytics to provide insights and harnesses data from other vessel systems and external sources.
In addition, it merges an electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS) with voyage planning functions and creates a ship-to-shore link from the system.

The delivery consists of the ECDIS operational leases, FOS navigation package, spanning voyage planning and execution modules, and the Wartsila BridgeMate tablet application.
Wartsila BridgeMate tablet application offers navigation decision support, back-up charts, and berthing support on wings, which can be retrieved from anywhere on the ship.
FOS also reduces the time for routes’ planning, enabling the crew to focus more on other work that is critical to securing a safe route.
The solution also provides immediate updates of charts, real-time monitoring, and advanced weather routing.
