Saronic aims to integrate Nvidia’s computing hardware and AI models into its autonomous maritime systems.
The demonstration showed that Kawasaki and Yanmar achieved stable hydrogen combustion in medium-speed four-stroke engines at rated output.
Manta Marine Technologies will supply and deploy its automated propulsion optimisation system FuelOpt on nine vessels operated by Chemship, following a trial installation on the Chemical Challenger vessel.
The partners started the project to develop a concept for a CO2-neutral high-speed marine combustion engine by the end of 2025.
The vessels, set for delivery between late 2027 and early 2029, will serve routes in the Clyde and Hebrides regions along Scotland’s west coast.
The system will be accessible to all port users, including both public and private sector organisations.
