SpecTec, a subsidiary of Volaris, has introduced AMOS-X, a platform for maritime asset management designed to integrate maintenance, inventory and procurement across ship and shore operations.

The new platform targets shipowners, operators and managers seeking to consolidate workflows and reduce operating costs across fleets.

AMOS-X consists of three main modules, including "Maintenance" for planning and documenting maintenance tasks, addressing unexpected issues, and monitoring equipment condition.

The "Inventory" module is intended for managing spares and consumables both on vessels and onshore, while the "Procurement" module is designed for streamlining purchasing processes.

AMOS-X is claimed to be one of the few systems in the maritime industry that integrates these essential functions into a single platform.

Additional modules, such as “Quality & Safety,” are being developed and will be added to the platform soon.

The launch of AMOS-X forms part of SpecTec’s ongoing investment in product development, with 25% of annual operating profit allocated to research and development.

SpecTec CEO Adam Dennett said: “AMOS-X reflects our continued focus on providing solutions that bring clarity and control to maritime operations and help customers meet the everyday demands and pressures of efficiently, safely and sustainably running their vessels.

“There are far more complexities in today’s market, and the age of the global fleet is the oldest it has been for 40 years, which is having a significant impact on the efficiency and safety of vessels and crews.”

AMOS-X is built to operate across fleet sizes and varying IT strategies.

The system can run on a customer’s current infrastructure, in the cloud, or in a hybrid configuration, with options to scale as fleet requirements change.

SpecTec said implementation is designed to accelerate access to data, decision-making and action.

The company said AMOS-X delivers preventative maintenance planning and workflow automation intended to reduce downtime by 15% and increase crew efficiency by 30%.

According to SpecTec, the software can save $30,000 per vessel per year in fuel and maintenance costs, cut audit preparation time by 50% to support compliance, and achieve a 12‑month return on investment.
