Carnival Panorama cruise ship is the third ship in the Vista-Class series, operated by Carnival Corporation’s Carnival Cruise Lines brand. The ship is being built by Fincantieri at its Marghera shipyard in Italy.
The ship was originally ordered by Carnival Corporation in December 2015 for the P&O Cruises Australia brand, but a year later the company announced that Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Splendor cruise ship would be transferred to the P&O Cruises Australia in place of Panorama.
The first steel for the Carnival Panorama vessel was cut in July 2017 and the keel-laying ceremony was held in January 2018. The ship is expected to join Carnival Cruise Lines’ fleet in December 2019 with its home port being Long Beach, California.
Carnival Panorama incorporates most of the design and features introduced on her sister ships Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon, which entered service in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
Featuring spacious indoor and outdoor areas, the ship aims to provide an improved seagoing vacation experience. It also offers a range of on-board entertainment facilities.
Registered under the Panamanian flag, the ship will be 322m-long with a beam of 37m and gross tonnage of 133,500t. It can accommodate up to 4,008 passengers and 1,450 crew members with a total of 15 decks.
Powered by a five-engine propulsion system consisting of two 14V48/60CR and three 8L48/60CR medium-speed MAN engines, the ship will sail at a cruising speed of 18k.
Carnival Panorama will feature a wide range of accommodation facilities in decks 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
The stateroom and suite options include Havana, Cloud 9, Family Harbor, Interior, Ocean view, Balcony and Suites.
Havana staterooms and suites will be located near the Havana bar and pool, featuring a unique interior decor, Havana Cabana suite, as well as ample outdoor space with a hammock chair and a rain shower.
Cloud 9 staterooms will feature exclusive decor and amenities. Family Harbor staterooms and suites are located close to Family Harbor Lounge, which will offer breakfast, snacks, concierge service, and entertainment.
Dining facilities on board Carnival Panorama include Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse / Brewhouse, Guy’s Burger Joint and Bonsai Teppanyaki.
Passenger dining options include Bonsai Sushi, Seafood Shack, Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and Cucina del Capitano for Italian food.
The cruise ship will also feature cooking demonstrations and a JavaBlue Café.
Carnival Panorama offers a range of both indoor and outdoor entertainment activities at the on-board SportSquare, SkyRide, the Clubhouse, and SkyGreens.
Entertainment facilities include Carnival WaterWorks, Cloud 9 spa, Skybox sports bar, casino bar, panorama atrium, and a fitness centre.
Carnival Panorama cruise ship will embark on her inaugural voyage, covering an exclusive one-time three-day cruise from Long Beach to Ensenada on 11 December 2019.
The maiden voyage will be followed by a year-round seven-day Mexican Riviera voyage from Long Beach from 14 December 2019. The ship will depart Long Beach Cruise Terminal every Saturday to the Mexican Riviera and will cover destinations such as Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta.
