The Carnival Vista cruise ship - featuring 15 passenger decks and innovative entertainment facilities

The design of Carnival Vista, the biggest cruise ship in the fleet of Carnival Cruise Lines, was unveiled at the Lincoln Centre, New York, in January 2014.

The ship will carry 3,954 passengers and feature innovative entertainment facilities. It is expected to begin its inaugural season with a series of Mediterranean cruises in May 2016.

Construction and technical specifications of Carnival Vista

Carnival Vista is being constructed at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Italy. Her keel was laid in October 2014 and delivery is expected in the first half of 2016.



The first azimuthal stern drive (ASD) tugboat built by Damen Shipyards.


The vessel will have a length of 321.5m, beam of 31m, and gross tonnage of 133,500t. It will be served by a total staff of 1,450, and will cruise at a speed of 18kt. It will also feature an atrium, with multicolour LED screens.

Accommodation units onboard Carnival Vista

The Carnival Vista cruise ship will feature 15 passenger decks. The accommodation units aboard will include standard staterooms and suites including two new accommodation categories – Family Harbour and Havana.

The Family Harbour category will include interior, ocean view, deluxe ocean view and cove balcony staterooms, as well as family suite units, which will be family hangout places offering accommodation for up to five family members.

The Havana accommodations will offer interior, and cabana staterooms as well as cabana suites. They will feature private outdoor terraces with lounge chair and hammock, and offer an easy access to Havana bar and pool.

All the accommodation units will be smoke-free zones.

Carnival Vista Dining facilities

The ship will feature diverse restaurants, outdoor eateries and bars. The dining facilities will include the American steakhouse Fahrenheit 555, and a Japanese restaurant named Bonsai Sushi. Other restaurants will include Seafood Shack, Horizons Restaurant, The Chef’s Table, Ji Ji Asian Kitchen, Cucina del Capitano, Guy’s Burger Joint, and BlueIguana Cantina.

Beverage options will include Library bar, Havana bar, and Carnival’s first onboard brewery, RedFrog Pub.

Entertainment facilities

A unique feature of Carnival Vista is its SkyRide outdoor activity, which is the industry-first pedal-powered open-air cycling on an 800ft track suspended 150ft above the sea. SkyCourse will be another outdoor activity, with a suspended rope course.

The cruise ship will also feature Kaleid-O-Slide, which is a raft ride water activity in a 455ft-long water tube slide with twists and turns. It will also include reading and play space, themes play space, and more than 200 educational and ocean-inspired activities for children aged below 12 years.

The ship will offer an IMAX theatre to provide a multi-dimensional special effects experience, and a clubhouse at SportSquare will offer mini-bowling, ping-pong, and arcade basketball.

Itineraries of Carnival Vista cruise ship

Carnival Vista will be homeported year-long at PortMiami. The 13-day inaugural cruise will begin at Trieste, Italy, on 1 May 2016, and will end at Barcelona on 14 May 2016.

The itineraries will include Mediterranean cruises with port of calls at Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Valletta, Malta, Palermo, Cagliari and Gibraltar. The ship will also operate on six to eight day Caribbean cruises, starting from December 2016.
