The Mein Schiff 7 cruise ship is a sister ship to Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2, which are owned and operated by TUI Cruises.
The steel-cutting ceremony for the new vessel was held in June 2022 at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, while the keel-laying ceremony was held in March 2023.
The Mein Schiff 7 cruise ship is the first of three new ships to be added to the Mein Schiff fleet by 2026. The new vessel’s sister ships, Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2, entered service in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
The Mein Schiff 7 cruise ship is currently being built by shipbuilding company Meyer Turku and is expected to be commissioned in 2024.
Mein Schiff 7 design and features
The Mein Schiff 7 is structurally similar to its sister ships, Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2. The new vessel will be 316m in length and has a moulded breadth of 35.8m and a gross tonnage of 111,500t. The vessel will accommodate up to 2,896 guests in double occupancy rooms across 1,461 cabins, along with approximately 1,000 crew members.
The ship will feature environmentally friendly and climate-neutral cruising with the use of lower-emission marine diesel. It will be equipped with catalytic converters and a shore power connection.
The Mein Schiff 7 will also be equipped with an innovative organic waste shredding system using thermal treatment to process it for further use on land.
The vessel will be equipped to have a total engine power of 48,000kW with 28MW of propulsion power. It is designed to be flexible and able to use methanol fuel and green methanol in the future. The cruising speed will be 22kt.
Accommodation
The Panorama suite will have a living space from 73m² to 77m² with 31m² to 36m² balconies, and will accommodate up to six guests. The suite will feature separate sitting areas, a separate living room and an additional bedroom and bathroom.
The Sky & Sea suite will have a living space of 42m² with a 29m² balcony, and will accommodate up to four people. The two-deck suite will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and its own roof terrace.
The Overseas suite will have a living space of 40m² with a 9m² balcony and will accommodate up to four people. Features include access to the X-Lounge separate check-in, free drinks, free internet access and a newspaper service.
Horizon suites will offer living space of 38m2 to 4om² with a 16m² balcony and accommodate up to four people. These suites are located at the stern of the ship, providing an impressive window front.
The Nice View suite will feature 39m² of living space with a 10m² to 12m² veranda and occupancy for up to four people.
The Junior Suite Balcony will have 26m² of living space with a 7m² balcony and offer accommodation for up to four people.
The vessel will offer two family cabin categories. The Family cabin balcony will have a living space of 25m² with a 15m² balcony and accommodate up to five people. The Family cabin outside will offer 32m² to 42m² of living space and will accommodate up to six guests.
The Premium veranda cabins will feature 30m² of living space with a 35m² veranda, and will accommodate two guests.
Balcony cabins will offer 17m² of living space, with a 5m² to 7m² balcony, and accommodate up to four people.
Outside cabins will have 17m² of living space and accommodate up to four people, while inside cabins will have 14m² to 17m² of living space with occupancy for up to four people.
Restaurants and bar facilities
The Mein Schiff 7 cruise ship will feature 12 restaurants and bistros, which include the Anckelmannsplatz buffet restaurant, the Fish market serving an assortment of seafood and the Bosporus snack bar, located on Deck Aqua/Deck 12. The Atlantic-Classic on Deck Atlantic/Deck Three will offer breakfast and dining options, while the Atlantic-Mediterranean on Deck Starfish/Deck Four will offer breakfast, lunch and dining options.
The ship will also feature 17 bars and lounges scattered across different decks. These include the Outer Alster Bar & Grill, the Hoheluft Bar, the TUI Bar, the Gallery Bar, the Dance Bar, the Casino & Lounge, the Icebear, the Look Bar, the Essential Bar, the Overview Bar, the X Bar and the X Lounge.
The ship will also feature exclusive bars and lounges: the Champagne Meet, the Diamond bar, Café Central, and the Juice Yard.
Other onboard amenities
Guests can indulge in retail shopping at the Neuer Wall shopping arcades with a wide selection of skincare and cosmetic products, fragrances, fashion, and high-quality fine jewellery, clothing, bags and much more.
The vessel will feature a 440m running track, a gym, spa areas and an outdoor arena with a sports court and a climbing wall.
A 25m outdoor pool will be on the 12th deck and a sun deck will be at top deck level.
Itinerary
The inaugural voyage of Mein Schiff 7 will start and end in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. In addition to the Canary Islands, the ship will visit Agadir in Morocco and Funchal on Madeira.
On selected routes, the Mein Schiff 7 will also visit port at Lanzarote or Madeira, providing guests with an opportunity to explore the places over two days.
