Seabourn Pursuit is the second ultra-luxury expedition ship being built by T. Mariotti for Seabourn, a brand of Carnival.

The new cruise vessel is a sister ship of Seabourn Venture, which was delivered in June 2022.

The steel-cutting ceremony and the construction of Seabourn Pursuit commenced in September 2020.

Installation of the ship’s hull started at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genova, Italy, in April 2022. The ship was under construction at the CIMAR shipyard in San Giorgio di Nogaro before the final phase.

The coining ceremony of Seabourn Pursuit was held at the T. Mariotti shipyard in April 2023. The vessel was delivered in July 2023 and set sail on its maiden voyage in August 2023.

Seabourn Pursuit design and features

Seabourn Pursuit measures 170m long and 23.7m wide. The ship features nine decks and can accommodate up to 264 guests. The ship is served by an expedition team of 24 members, including scientists, scholars, and naturalists.

The vessel is purpose-built for exploring remote destinations and is designed for diverse environments to PC6 Polar Class standards.

A 4K GSS Cineflex Camera on the mast of the Constellation Lounge can broadcast images from up to five miles distant around the ship.

Passengers on Seabourn Pursuit will experience better connectivity and Wi-Fi access onboard with the upgraded technology services provided by SpaceX’s Starlink, a supplier of low Earth orbit satellite technology.

Accommodation

Seabourn Pursuit features 132 oceanfront all-veranda suites in 12 different categories.

Veranda Suites located on decks five, six, and seven feature 33m² of living space with a 7m² private furnished veranda, and a separate space for dining or coffee for two people.

The Veranda Spa Suites on deck seven offer in-suite spa and spa concierge service to the guests along with Veranda Suites amenities.

Panorama Veranda Suites are located on decks five to eight and feature a living space of 39m² with an 8m² furnished veranda, semicircular living space, and large floor-to-ceiling windows.

Penthouse Suites located on deck eight offer 49m² of living space and a 9m² veranda. The suite offers a separate living area with in-suite dining for two people.

Penthouse Spa Suite on deck seven features 59m² of living space and a 19m² veranda with additional in-suite spa services.

The Grand Wintergarden Suites offer 130m² of living space with two verandas totalling 19m² in area. The two-level suites are located on decks seven and eight. The suites offer a large living area, additional bedroom, a dining area with seating for four people, a separate guest bathroom, a pantry, and a wet bar. The suite also features a Swarovski ATX Interior spotting scope for the guests to experience wildlife and scenic views.

Wintergarden Suites offer 97m² of living space with a 12m² private veranda. They offer the same amenities as Grand Wintergarden Suites, excluding additional bedroom and full bathroom on the lower floor.

The two Owners Suites on the Seabourn Pursuit are located on deck seven with 95m² of living space, including a 45m² private veranda. The suites feature a spacious living area, separate bedroom with queen-sized bed, a walk-in closet, a five-piece bathroom, and a makeup vanity.

The Signature Suites located at the stern feature 128m² of space, including a 55m² private furnished veranda. It features a foyer entry that opens to the living space and comes with a dining table for four, a guest bathroom, and a separate bedroom with queen-sized bed. The curved veranda includes its own canopied whirlpool spa tub, sun loungers, sofa, and chairs.

Onboard amenities

Seabourn Pursuit, as the other ships in the fleet, offers eight dining venues serving gourmet cuisine.

The Expedition Lounge offers guests a place to relax and share stories over a glass of cocktail or wine.

The Discovery Center located on deck four features natural history and cultural programmes on large screens.

The Seabourn Square is a large living area on the ship, where guests can meet and socialise with other passengers on the ship. It also features fixed Swarovski telescopes for the guests to have better sea views.

The Constellation Lounge on the top deck provides 270-degree views of the surroundings.

Seabourn Pursuit also features Zodiac cruising with a fleet of 24 Zodiacs. The vessel is also equipped with two, six-person custom-build submarines for underwater expeditions. Guests can also opt for kayaking experience on double sea kayaks.

Furthermore, Seabourn Pursuit includes a Card Room, Spa and Wellness centre, club for live dance performances and live music, and a fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment.

Itineraries

Seabourn Pursuit kicked off its maiden year with an eight-day voyage from Valletta, Malta, to Rome, Italy. The vessel will head south for expeditions exploring coastal South America, the Amazon, and Antarctica into late March 2024.
