In late December 2014, DESMI Ocean Guard received orders for the RayClean-400 ballast water treatment system for two new asphalt carriers being built at 3. Maj shipyard in Croatia.
The ballast water treatment systems will be delivered this year for the vessels, which are being built for Swedish shipowner Wisby Tankers.
The RayClean systems were selected for many reasons, but the small footprint of the compact skid-mounted systems was a decisive factor.
The low power consumption of just 22kW to 44 kW, depending on water quality, and the tested and approved performance in all salinities, including dirty water, with extremely low UV transmission made the choice clear for both shipyard and shipowner.
DESMI Ocean Guard are thus ending 2014 on a strong note and look forward to continuing the upward trend through 2015.
