Leading marine distress signals brand Comet is meeting with government trade officials to further develop its business in South Africa – and beyond.

International sales manager Justine Heeley held talks with Brian Gallagher, the UK trade commissioner to South Africa, to discuss opportunities to publicise Comet’s comprehensive range of products with help from UK Trade and Investment (UKTI)

Justine said, “Comet obtains vital country and market knowledge from our distributor Novamarine. We believe we can also benefit from the excellent range of services offered by UKTI to further develop the market.”

“It is important that we work hard even in successful markets, in order to keep one step ahead of the competition. Africa as a whole offers huge growth potential and our success in South Africa will act as a springboard for development of other countries.”

Comet regularly attends trade shows in South Africa – such as the Cape Town Show – in partnership with Novamarine. Among key contacts in South Africa is Sandra Warne, the trade and investment advisor in Cape Town.
