APM Terminals Mumbai completes Navis N4 installation

APM Terminals Mumbai has completed the deployment of Navis N4 successfully.

APM Terminals (APMT) Mumbai, commonly known as Gateway Terminals India (GTI), has concluded the installation of the latest N4 offering from Navis, a subsidiary of Cargotec.

With the deployment of N4, clients will now be able to have better engagement with the terminal.

N4 will offer greater visibility into container tracking and truck turn times for improved planning and support of container pick-up as well as drop-off.

N4 will also enable data exchange, allowing GTI Mumbai to provide live information feeds to clients.

Navis stated that N4 will later be merged with an international application monitoring solution that is being launched across all of APMT’s sites.

With the ability to oversee end-to-end performance, the solution will be able to detect performance-related issues on a timely basis.

This is said to result in improved terminal efficiency and consistency, especially during peak hours.

APMT terminal operations systems head Patrick Heilig said: “The implementation of Navis N4 3.8 at GTI Mumbai was long overdue and a welcome milestone. By adopting our standard terminal operating system (TOS), GTI will gain numerous long-term advantages.

“It enables the sharing of best practices for improved efficiency; a foundation for deploying Navis’ advanced modules such as PrimeRoute; the development of in-house expertise that understands our customers and our business; centralised monitoring and support; and faster, cost-effective global development of front-end applications for customers.”

GTI Mumbai, which is situated in the Nhava Sheva’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port, manages more than two million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) annually.

Recently, Haifa Port finalised Navis’ N4 upgrade to the 3.7 release for upcoming automation improvements across all container and general cargo terminals.
