Germany-based MAN Energy Solutions has opened a shipyard service station on Liuheng Island, Zhoushan, China.
The 560m2 workshop, dubbed MAN PrimeServ Service Station, is located within Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard, the largest privately owned shipyard in China.
MAN Energy Solutions China managing director and Asia Pacific Engine and Marine Systems head Jeffrey Ang said: “Customer-oriented service is the key to our PrimeServ business.
“The launch of the new PrimeServ service station will ensure more prompt service for ship owners calling at Xinya Shipyard for dockings and repairs.”
The service centre, which is the company’s first in cooperation with a local shipyard, will be staffed with four engineers, one sales manager and four fitters.
Customised to MAN’s needs and standards, the workshop features tools such as a 10t overhead crane, dynamic balancing machine, honing machine and lathe.
