US-based company American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has launched a new software solution, ABS Nautical Systems (NS) Vessel Performance, to improve vessel efficiency, reduce costs and assist emissions reporting and compliance.

Designed to enhance efficiency and control costs, the NS Vessel Performance software works through a ship-specific performance model based on vessel design characteristics, as well as tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs).

KPIs are formed on the basis of the ship performance model and analyses of regularly captured data, while also providing decision support ashore and on-board the vessel.
