Wärtsilä has received a contract from French shipping company CMA CGM to provide the ballast water management system (BWMS) for its new container vessels.

The agreement will see Wärtsilä deliver its BWMS for four new 3,300 twenty-foot equivalent unit (teu) vessels by July 2017.

Wärtsilä has also agreed to provide maintenance services for the Tallink Grupp-owned RoPax ferry M/S Megastar as part of a separate five-year contract.

The contractual involves maintenance and optimisation of the vessel’s engines and supply of spare parts, as well as the provision of round-the-clock online support and condition-based maintenance services.

MAN Cryo has received a contract from Turkey-based Sefine Shipyard to provide an LNG fuel-gas supply system, which is to be installed on a double-ended RoPax ferry currently being built for Caronte & Tourist.

MAN Cryo is MAN Diesel & Turbo's marine LNG fuel-gas-system manufacturer, while Caronte & Tourist is an Italian shipping company.
