DNV GL, classification and advisory service provider for the maritime industry, has signed a partnership agreement with Prisma Electronics on fleet performance management.

The deal includes Prisma Electronics’ LAROS system and DNV GL’s ECO Insight portal.

Under the agreement, both the parties will jointly develop a way to make the fleet performance management operations greener and more efficient, as well as complies with existing and upcoming obligations, including MRV and EEDI.

"Our cooperation ensures there are no blind spots in our customer’s fleet performance management."

Prisma Electronics managing director Christos Giordamlis said: "The partnership will enable customers to manage their entire fleet based on unified and reliable information from any vessel’s system through the collection of data from all equipment of interest, normalising the data into meaningful KPIs for analytics, and the aggregation of homogenised data from multiple vessels into DNV GL’s ECO Insight portal.

"The combined solution promises a new era in fleet performance management."

The new patent LAROS platform enables remote monitoring and analysis of vessels’ operational parameters.

LAROS can wirelessly collect, filter and normalise various data from any systems in a vessel, and present combined data to existing applications on board and onshore.

Customised KPIs help to increase the efficiency of vessel and allow performance-based maintenance and accurate forecasting.

DNV GL maritime south-east Europe and Middle East regional manager Ioannis Chiotopoulos said: "By working with such a reliable remote condition monitoring supplier as Prisma Electronics, we can provide shipping companies with a complete overview of their fleet.

"Often only some vessels have autologging equipment onboard. Our cooperation ensures there are no blind spots in our customer’s fleet performance management.

"The data provided by Prisma also enables us to generate additional performance insights such as information about hull and engine degradation, benchmarks and market averages."

ECO Insight, which is the performance management portal of DNV GL, provides an inclusive and easily accessible means to manage the performance of a fleet, such as voyage, hull and propeller, and engine and systems performance.

The portal improves the customers’ own fleet reports with industry data, including automatic identification system (AIS), weather and fuel.

Since its launch last year, ECO Insight has been proving performance solution in shipping sector.
