Ebola App

Medical and travel security risk services company International SOS has launched a new mobile app to deliver essential information about Ebola for employees of oil and gas companies travelling to West Africa.

The application will be maintained around the clock and reviewed by experienced medical and security professionals.

The application has been developed as part of the company’s initiative to support the fight against Ebola worldwide.

"This technology can help reduce the likelihood of panic by providing individuals with accurate, up-to-minute advice and information from a trusted source."

According to International SOS regional medical director Dr Beau Dees: "This technology can help reduce the likelihood of panic by providing individuals with accurate, up-to-minute advice and information from a trusted source and all in the palm of their hands.

"It provides crucial information such as guidance on how Ebola is transmitted, what to do in the event of feeling unwell, what to avoid and how to keep yourself safe."

The Ebola mobile app will offer the latest news and developments on the virus outbreak, maps of affected areas and a live International SOS twitter feed.

International SOS medical director for information and analysis Doug Quarry said: "The on-going Ebola outbreak has become a global health emergency where rapid communication of advice and information is absolutely critical.

"We designed this app to try and help meet that demand."
