Scenic luxury river cruise line has unveiled its plan to launch an ocean cruise line with its first ship Scenic Eclipse.

The luxury cruise ship is expected to be launched in August 2018 and will undertake its maiden voyage from Istanbul to Venice before going on cruises to America, Antarctica, Europe and The Mediterranean, and the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords.

A ship will be delivered in June 2019.

The 16,500 gross tonne ship will be manufactured by Uljanik Group in Croatia. Rated as a Polar Class 6 (Ice Class 1A Super) vessel, it will be equipped with the new zero speed stabiliser fins for greater stability.

The hull is equipped to make its way through ice and it has two engine rooms in separate fire zones, two wheel houses and two galleys and refrigeration units.

The ship has a capacity to accommodate 228 passengers across 114 all-balcony suites. The cabins measure 32m² with a two-bedroom Owner’s Penthouse Suite measuring 233m².
