Global satellite operator SES has introduced its new SES Maritime+ service in a bid to provide high-speed connectivity to vessels passing through oceans across the globe.

Using SES’s global fleet of more than 50 satellites, Maritime+ will allow maritime customers to have easy access to tailor-made bandwidth and coverage packages.

Vessels, while passing through the oceans, will receive smooth roaming services with the help of SES’s over 20 teleports and more than 6,000 points of presence on the ground.

"We will continue to further improve and develop the throughput capabilities of SES Maritime+."

SES mobility market solutions centre head Elias Zaccack said: “SES Maritime+ gives our global customers the nimbleness and agility to customise their capacity demands whenever needed, and the peace of mind to focus on delivering the best customer service experience to the vessel owners.

“We will continue to further improve and develop the throughput capabilities of SES Maritime+ to ensure that vessels can travel around the world with seamless roaming.”

The newly launched service features SES’s global network infrastructure and hybrid satellite capacity with new technology from VT iDirect.
