
Vroon Offshore Services has taken delivery of its new field-support vessel (FSV), VOS Gorgeous, from Fujian South East Shipyard (FSES) in Fuzhou, China.
The new vessel is part of an order made for a total of 22 offshore-support vessels at Fujian Southeast. They are scheduled for delivery between up to 2016.
VOS Gorgeous is a 60m-long FSV, the third in a series of four being built at the Vroon shipyard.
Featuring a wave-piercing bow shape, the new-build will be deployed in the North Sea under a long-term charter. The vessel will be managed by Vroon Offshore Services Aberdeen.
The naming ceremony of VOS Gorgeous took place in November last year.
In March this year, Vroon Offshore Services received VOS Chablis from Fujian Funing Shipyard.

By GlobalDataVOS Chablis is a Focal-680-design 6,500BHP AHTS vessel from Focal Marine, equipped with DP-2, two x 10t bow thrusters and one x 8t stern thruster. It has a bollard pull of 92t and provides accommodation for a total of 50 persons.
The shipping firm received its sister VOS Champagne in late 2014, and is currently deployed on a long-term charter in Thailand.
In December 2014, Vroon awarded a contract to China’s Cosco Shipyard to build a seventh livestock carrier. The vessel will have a cargo capacity of about 4,500m² and will be have a cruising range of 18,000nm.
