Denmark-based Thorco Projects has selected Navis’ Bluetracker for the compliance monitoring and evaluation of its own and contracted vessels.
Bluetracker One’s Charter Monitor module will enable Thorco to monitor the operational speed versus fuel oil consumption in compliance with the agreed terms of the charter party.
Thorco will use Bluetracker to monitor 12 of its contracted vessels. The system gives automatic notification if the speed consumption curve exceeds certain limits.
With the information obtained, Thorco and its ship managers can continuously optimise vessel performance.
Thorco Projects CEO Thomas Mikkelsen said: “Operating a mixed fleet of own and chartered vessels in a spot-market business is often a challenge since the operational vessel performance data are being evaluated from different perspectives with different priorities.
“Establishing a multi-tenant source of truth that ensures the same level of knowledge about operational data in real-time of different stakeholders is a step towards effective operations in a dynamic market based on collaboration.”

Navis Carrier and Vessel Solutions Customer Support global director Selke Eichler said: “The availability of operational vessel performance data at any place, at any time, is seen as an added value – especially by the technical managers amongst our customers using Bluetracker.”
Thorco selected Navis’ Bluetracker to efficiently overview its own and chartered vessels that need to respond to the requirements of a market that is highly volatile.
Last December, Navis’ N4 terminal operating system (TOS) became operational at Paraguay-based Terport Villeta terminal operated by Terport Terminales Portuarias.
The deployment of N4 TOS was aimed at expanding Terport Villeta’s operations and cargo status.
