The Disney Treasure cruise ship is a new Triton-class vessel currently under construction at Meyer Werft’s shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

It is the sister ship to the Disney Wish cruise ship which was launched in 2022. The keel-laying ceremony for the new vessel was held in March 2023.

Disney Treasure is scheduled for delivery in 2024 and is expected to embark on her maiden voyage in December 2024 from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Design and features

The 144,000t Disney Treasure is being designed to honour Walt Disney’s passion for travel and exploration. The design concept of the cruise ship will feature the stories of Disney characters with adventure as the architectural and thematic foundation of the ship.

The vessel will measure 1,119ft (341m) in length and have a beam width of 128ft and a draft of 27.2ft. The ship will have a cruising speed of 19.5 knots (kt) and a maximum speed of 23kt.

Disney Treasure will feature 15 decks with the capacity to accommodate 4,000 passengers and 1,555 crew members.

The vessel, like her sister ship, will feature an eco-friendly LNG [liquefied natural gas] drive system.

Accommodation aboard Disney Treasure

Disney Treasure will feature 1,246 staterooms, with 1,133 outside staterooms and 123 inside staterooms. The outside staterooms will include 877 verandah staterooms and 170 oceanview staterooms.

The ship will also feature 53 concierge staterooms and 23 concierge suites. The staterooms will fitted with mobility and communication features for passengers requiring accessible accommodation.

The Standard Inside stateroom will feature 169ft² of living space and accommodate up to four guests. Features include elevated wooden bed frames with storage space underneath and a curtain-separable living area with a couch, television, desk and cabinets. Wheelchair-accessible options will also be available for the stateroom.

The Oceanview staterooms will be available in two categories, Deluxe Oceanview and Deluxe Family Oceanview. The staterooms will feature a sitting area with a couch, TV and desk and a two-door split bathroom with a vanity mirror, a sink and a shower. Wheelchair-accessible options will be available for both.

The Deluxe Oceanview stateroom will have 218ft² of space and accommodate up to four guests, while the Deluxe Family Oceanview stateroom will have 237ft² of space and accommodation for up to five guests.

The verandah staterooms will be available in two categories: Deluxe Family Oceanview stateroom with veranda and Deluxe Oceanview stateroom with veranda. The Deluxe Family Oceanview stateroom with veranda will feature 284ft² of space with accommodation for up to five guests. The 243ft² Deluxe Oceanview stateroom with veranda will provide accommodation for up to four passengers. Wheelchair-accessible rooms will be available in both categories.

The Concierge staterooms and suites include the Concierge one-bedroom suite with extended veranda totalling 1,031ft² of space, the Concierge one-bedroom suite with veranda featuring a combined space of 608ft² and the Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with 357ft² of space and accommodation for five guests. The Concierge Family Oceanview stateroom with veranda will offer 296ft² of combined space for five guests.

Guests can also opt for the 1,759ft² Concierge two-storied royal suite with a veranda that can accommodate up to six guests. Features include two main bedrooms, three full bathrooms including two main bathrooms with double sinks and a guest bathroom with a shower, and a private balcony with a whirlpool.

The Concierge Tomorrow Tower suite will offer 1,966ft² of space with accommodation for up to eight guests, while the 1,507ft² Concierge one-storey royal suite with veranda will accommodate up to six. Wheelchair accessibility options will be available for select concierge suites.

Onboard dining options

Disney Treasure cruise ship will feature immersive dining options at three imaginative family entertainment restaurants: Plaza de Coco, Worlds of Marvel and 1923.

The Plaza de Coco will be the world’s first restaurant to provide a theatrical dining experience, themed around the Disney and Pixar film, Coco. The restaurant will feature festive dinner menus with modern twists on traditional Mexican cuisines.

The Worlds of Marvel will feature an immersive Marvel-themed dining experience, drawing design inspirations from the Marvel cinematic universe. The 1923 restaurant, named after the year Walt Disney Animation Studios was founded, will feature exploration-themed artworks from modern and classic animated films along with a sophisticated menu inspired by the fusion of cultural flavours from California.

The cruise ship will also feature quick bites, casual dining, 24-hour room service, speciality treats, gourmet cafes, dining options for adults and Jumbeaux’s Sweets, inspired by the famous ice cream shop featured in Disney’s movie Zootopia.

The ship will also feature adult-exclusive spaces including the Periscope Pub, the Jungle Cruise-inspired Skipper Society lounge, the Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement and the Rose Lounge.

Entertainment venues

The Aladdin-themed Grand Hall will feature dedicated shows, character encounters and musical performances.

Sarabi, a two-storey savannah-themed space named after the lioness matriarch of Pride Rock from The Lion King, will serve as a central hub for a multitude of daytime activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment. The venue will feature events such as Match Your Mate and Family Time Game Show, including Villains Game Night.

The Walt Disney Theatre, an opulent show palace, will feature original Broadway-style productions developed exclusively for Disney Cruise Line.

Disney Treasure will feature a Mickey and Friends-themed district on the upper decks offering water activities, casual dining options and space to relax. The district will also feature a water coaster known as AquaMouse.

The vessel will also feature a Toy Story-themed district for families with toddlers and young children. It will include a splash zone, wading pool, family waterslide and a smoothie bar.

The Quiet Cove will be an adult-only lounge with a luxurious infinity pool, poolside bar and a cafe.

Disney Treasure will also feature entertainment options for kids of all ages. These include the Marvel Super Hero Academy, a high-tech Avengers headquarters where kids can interact with Marvel superheroes, and the Fairytale Hall, a royal collection of activity rooms with creativity space called Rapunzel’s Art Studio, or read and act out stories at Belle’s Library.

Other kid-oriented entertainment venues will include the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, Star Wars: Cargo Bay, and Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck playground.

Disney Treasure itineraries

The Disney Treasure cruise ship will begin its inaugural journey in December 2024 from Port Canaveral, Florida, on a seven-night eastern Caribbean cruise followed by an inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the eastern and western Caribbean.
