The NedXplor 38 Superyacht is a new explorer yacht being offered by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and Omega Architects, in co-operation with IYC Monaco.

Integrating Dutch design and naval architecture, the yacht will feature elegant exterior and interior design. It will have the capability to sail across the world.

Scheduled for delivery in 2019, NedXplor 38 will be available in two different configurations, including the EDGE globetrotting version and the high-class VOGUE model.

The explorer superyacht will be built under MCA LY3 standards at an undisclosed Dutch shipyard.

NedXplor design

The NedXplor yacht design incorporates the patented fast displacement hull form (FDHF) and the patented under-water spoiler Hull Vane by Van Oossanen. The hull and superstructure will be made of steel and aluminium.

The Hull Vane foil below the stern of the yacht will reduce resistance, pitch and roll motions while improving its seakeeping capabilities. The innovative hull structure will enable efficient and economic operations while saving approximately 30% of fuel.

The optimal combination of yacht size and Hull Vane will provide the operators a platform similar to a larger explorer yacht at a lower cost.

The vessel will be built to Ice Class standards to ensure operations in ice conditions and support exploration journeys. It will be 38m-long, with a beam of 8.5m and gross tonnage of 440t.

The near-vertical bow will maximise the interior space, while the reverse-angled wheelhouse windows will provide a dynamic stance to the yacht.

Features of the superyacht

The yacht will feature large outdoor spaces, including panoramic sundecks, a Portuguese bridge, and a spacious lounging terrace, as well as a distinctive raised aft deck offering 360° views.

“The vessel will also provide an option of converting the tender garage on the lower aft deck into a beach club.”

The large outdoor spaces on the yacht will provide panoramic views. The aft deck space can accommodate a helicopter, which can also be transformed into an aft lounge terrace. The helipad option will be available on both models.

Full-height glass windows will be provided to allow ample natural light into the interiors of the yacht.

Nedxplor 38 accommodation and deck details

The NedXplor superyacht can accommodate ten guests and seven crew members in its five cabins. The spacious accommodation is designed to give passengers a comfortable stay.

The main deck will accommodate large owner’s suite, while the lower deck will house four additional guest cabins, including two double-bed and two twin-bed cabins. The crew cabins will be located in the bow section.

The yacht will also feature a spacious main saloon, sky lounge, full beach club, and gym.

The special sub-lower tank deck will provide an option for extra storage. It will also have the capacity to carry up to five tenders. The dining area will extend the length of the saloon on the port side.

The vessel will also provide an option of converting the tender garage on the lower aft deck into a beach club. The amenities offered by the yacht will be similar to those of larger yachts.

Propulsion of NedXplor

The yacht will be powered by two Caterpillar C32 engines with a rated power output of 1,000hp each.

The engines will be coupled to two propellers through a pair of shafts. The propulsion system will enable the yacht to sail at a maximum speed of 15k and attain a maximum range of 5,032nm at 11k.
