Avenir LNG unit Avenir Marine has arranged the delivery of the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) and BioLNG in the Port of Lübeck, Germany.

The fuel was bunkered into TT-Line’s new RoPax ferry, dubbed Nils Holgersson, at the Scandinavian quay of the Baltic Sea port.

This marks the start of a long-term collaboration between TT-Line and Avenir LNG, which includes the delivery of LNG and BioLNG to two new RoPax ferries.

These ferries will transport cargo and passengers between Baltic Sea ports in Sweden, Germany and Poland.

Avenir LNG partnered with biomethane trader Landwärme and German LNG infrastructure provider LIQUIND 24/7 for the fuel supply, which includes 10% BioLNG.

The company supplies small-scale LNG for marine transport, off-grid industry and power generation.

Last month, Avenir LNG received the delivery of a second 20,000m³ dual-purpose, LNG supply and bunkering vessel (LBV) from Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering.

Named Avenir Achievement, the vessel incorporates boil-off gas (BOG) reliquefication and simultaneous operations (SIMOPs) capabilities.
