XSAT Telecommunication Services for Ships

XSAT Group provides affordable on-board telecommunication services for marine vessels. As a tier 1 service provider for Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya mobile satellite operators we consult, design, install, maintain, support and sell satellite communication equipment and airtime.

Satellite communication systems for maritime vessels

XSAT can recommend different satellite systems for data and voice communications, customised to your needs and budget.

Inmarsat Fleet Broadband is the first maritime communications service to provide cost-effective broadband data (up to 432kbps over a shared channel) and voice, simultaneously, through a compact antenna. This makes it easier and cheaper for crew to call home with enhanced super quiet time (ESQT) for fleet broadband.

Iridium OpenPort offers a truly global coverage and provides affordable voice and data (up to 128kbps) communication. Offering three separate phone lines and high-speed always-on data line, along with flexible and attractive pricing packages, this system provides an ideal solution for vessel communication needs.

ThurayaIP robust unit (IP 55) with a maritime antenna provides a unique unlimited data package where a customer pays a fixed amount per month and enjoys an unlimited amount of data sent and received (fair policy might be applied). Background IP of up to 444kbps in shared channel allows the smooth and quick email communication, VPN connections and voice communication via VoIP protocol.

On-board high-speed VSAT systems

Modern operation requires a significant amount of data to be sent and received on-board. Traditional mobile satellite solutions, where a customer pays per megabyte, might not be as cost-effective as modern maritime VSAT systems where you pay a fixed amount for unlimited traffic.

XSAT deals with a number of maritime VSAT providers and satellite operators. SeaTel 4010 abd 5010 Ku-band maritime stabilised antennas are designed for always-on voice, fax, weather, high-speed data, video and internet. More stable signal levels, fewer acquisition losses and lower bit-error rates ensure a reliable always-on communication. Combined with attractive fixed per month charges, maritime VSAT might be an ideal, within-a-budget communication solution.

Personal handheld satellite terminals

For personal usage and for back-up / emergency usage, XSAT offers the latest handheld terminals.

Iridium 9555 is a proven solution with a truly global coverage. The latest Inmarsat Isatphone Pro terminal is a cost-effective solution with high-quality voice capabilities.

Thuraya XT phone is the toughest satellite phone with IP 54 durability rating. All handheld terminals are provided with either prepaid or post-paid airtime plans.
