MULTIDIAMETER TECHNOLOGY

The multidiameter technology was invented and developed in 1990 by Roxtec International AB. The adaptable multidiameter seal can handle a variety of cable and pipe diameters. Just peel away one or more layers from its center and the seal fits perfectly.

The technology reduces the need for different parts as well as installation time to a minimum. As a result, it makes planning easier and saves money by simplifying the work of consultants, buyers, designers and installers.

THE SEALING SYSTEM

Roxtec’s system is modular, based on six basic elements, which seal cables and pipes from 4 to 99mm in diameter.

The modules are inserted around the cables or pipes in frames, which are either welded or bolted into the construction. Frames are available in different shapes, materials and sizes for different application purposes. The entire system is sealed with a compression unit, a wedge, that tightly compress the module, creating an intrusion-proof seal.

ROXTEC IN SHIPBUILDING

Roxtec’s system is used to seal all types of penetrating cables and pipes passing through bulkheads and decks, in and between different sections and constructions such as machine rooms, storage rooms, living compartments and on the bridge.

Purposes vary from protection and sealing against fire, water and gas to protection against electromagnetic interference. The system is also well suited to seal, for example, hydraulic pipes since the rubber absorbs vibrations. The system is well adapted to withstand tough conditions both above and below the waterline.

Roxtec's products have been fully tested and approved for use in A class and H class rated sections according to IMO Res. A.754 (18) and SOLAS. Roxtec's sealing system has also been approved according to different military standards in various countries. The majority of classification societies such as Lloyd's, ABS, Bureau Veritas and DNV certifies our products.
